Seiko Kato

Kato is a Brighton based artist. I had the pleasure of meeting her after making friends with Rose Waterson. I love Kato’s work, it’s beautiful and delves into the same variations of the theme of life and death. Using victorian illustrations and medical books, she builds up a macabre collection of elegant and aesthetically pleasing collages. It was really refreshing talking to a similar minded artist and discussing the potential success that can be had as a free lance artist. I found her a great benefit to the influence of my work, and was encouraged to keep on producing my collages. Because of this interaction, it has spawned more contacts, and i am due to take part in the Brighton Illustration Fair, which will be a great opportunity to really expand my resources as an artist.
